Hasbro Failure to Block Transformer Prime – Tech News. Hasbro must give up Asus sell the Prime Transformer. Franchise owner of the toy manufacturers around the character of this Transformer robot failed to convince the court to block the sale of these tablets.
December, Hasbro filed a lawsuit in federal court in Los Angeles, United States, accusing Asus steal the name of ‘Transformers Prime’ from him.
Hasbro is said, Asus harness the popularity of the Transformer characters to make it easier to market a tablet. “Hasbro will continue to protect its products and take firm action against those who abuse it,” said Hasbro at the time.
Unfortunately, after a series of processes Hasbro rejected the trial judge to order the Asus does not sell the tablets using the name of Prime Transformer.
“There are similarities in the use or function on behalf of Prime Transformer Hasbro products and Asus. Name is associated with the Hasbro toy robot and could confuse consumers,” said Hasbro.
In its decision, as reported by Cnet, Wednesday (03/28/2012) Hasbro said the trial judge failed to prove this naming can cause consumer confusion.
“Hasbro is also unable to explain how its products could be harmed if the Prime Transformer tablet sales continued,” the judge said.
